Earth-shattering summer haiku d’été stupéfiant – tickle the dragon? = chaoutille le dragon ?

tickle the dragon’s tail?
he’ll incinerate the sky!
whose Trinity now?

trinity 620

chaoutille le dragon ?
il incinère le ciel !
mais quelle Trinité ?

Richard Vallance

Years after the 20 kiloton Trinity atomic bomb exploded on July 16 1945, J. Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967), the director of the project, made this ominous projection:

I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.

He was prophetically right, to say the very least.Tickle the dragon’s tail” refers to he technique to calculate critical mass, which would be necessary to detonate in an atomic weapon.

By some fabulous and bizarre co-incidence, her middle name Natse is almost identical to the Japanese word, Natsu, which means summer!

This actually just happened to me! I was walking back home yesterday on a forested path when I encountered a skunk happily nibbling on bread crumbs. Fortunately he was facing away from me, his cute fluffy tail riding high!
